About Bramblewood

Bramblewood’s journey began in early 2025 out of a shared frustration with the modern housing market and a vision for something better. Recognising the severe lack of attainable, community-focused housing options in the Greater Hamilton Area, we set out to build a "third way." In August 2025, we officially incorporated as a non-profit housing co-operative under the Ontario Co-operative Corporations Act, setting the legal foundation for a multi-unit regenerative community designed to last for generations.

We believe that housing should heal—both for the families who live here and the land we build on. By removing the speculative profit motive from housing, our co-operative ensures that living costs remain permanently stable and insulated from market inflation. From our high-performance, net-positive architectural design to our shared spaces and community garden, the team is focused on building a model of intentional neighbouring that empowers members and restores the local Hamilton ecosystem.
